I can finally post the quilts I made for the Grandkids as they have finally been gifted.

All these were made with jelly rolls.

Word has it they all love their quilts and each slept under theirs last night.

My oldest Grandson loves the Cowboys football team, but I couldn't bring myself to limit his quilt to just this so I based his loosely one their colors.

My Granddaughter is creative and loves to color so I wanted something to match her love of colors.  And aren't those the cutest kittens on the back-in all the right colors!

My youngest Grandson is quite young but I didn't want to make his quilt too babyish. I wanted it to be appropriate as he grows. I can't believe I found fleece backing to match!

I am pleased with my choice of fabrics. I love batiks. This is going to make a very pretty wall hanging. Soon, Soon.

My Magnolia Mystery flimsy.  I need to decide on border width, and I might make the quilt lengthwise instead of across.  I really love the way it turned out, and how just turning them on point makes them look like wild and crazy magnolias

On Ringo Lake Mystery from Bonnie Hunter

Doing the new Bonnie Hunter On Ringo Lake Mystery. Doing about a 5th for a wall hanging.  I might have to add more later but I think I can keep up and still do my dog training with this little portion of it. I have finished parts one and two.

Lots of fun quilting

I have been working on some projects, one I did finish, to hang in my office. I have used an old dry cleaner hanger, the one with the cardboard dowel, re-bent to fit the quilt as the hanging apparatus.

And working on using some of my scraps. Inspired by Ginny Chung, I am making these 3D bow ties. These are so cute and so much fun to make.  I have a dozen more made after this picture.

Updated Blackcoral Berner pics

There is always one in the bunch.....
Jetty(left) just had to out do her mom Ocean's (right) agility tongue

But here Jetty is just looking like her cute little self

Oyster trying to look dignified(but always handsome)
and the best he could manage with mom moving his feet around and making him stand still-and no ball to play with and chew on!(you can see he is tucking and squatting a bit-but I am pleased that he at least stood still long enough for Randy to get a nice side shot)

Catching up

Got caught up on my Cora's Quilts Gathering Mystery weeks.
Here is the current month Children's Library block. I found this really appropriate striped batik, so didn't make little 1" squares but used this instead. it combined all the colors so nicely, I couldn't resist saving time and effort.

Catching up on the Solstice Challenge a bit at a time. Skipped a couple that I will go back to later but here is Block 19 in a slightly smaller version at 16"

Agiltiy with Jorma

Spent last weekend at the IKC agility trail.
This is my grandpuppy Jorma owned by my best friend Vicky in Utah.
I don't get much time to practice with him, as I am in Idaho but we do a bit when I go down to UT. We are developing teamwork as we go. Last weekend it showed that it was coming together. He earned his first agility legs in Novice Standard Preferred and Novice Jumpers Preferred.
We also had a huge stride in our teamwork on the last JWW run. We didn't qualify but he did his "turns".  Turn means turn away from me, we will be changing direction and the next obstacle will be away from me.
He had been turning in the same direction he was going which meant he had to turn in a little circle to be going in the new direction. It not only takes extra time but could cause him to repeat an obstacle that would now be in his line of movement. A smooth change of direction is more efficient, it saves time, is easier on the dog's body and keeps him on correct course.  I am so proud of him and how fast he is learning.

Solstice Block 16

I couldn't decide which way I liked the colors placed so I did both.
It is called the Friendship Block. To me one looks like hearts and the other much like the card trick but reminds me of holding hands. Because the quilt is going to be so large, I have again chosen to do a smaller version. each of these blocks it 6" finished and will line up nicely as spacer blocks for the bigger blocks.

Solstice Block 15

I decided rather than skimping and trying to find little spots for my red that I would just buy more of this wonderful color. Now I can disperse it throughout the quilt and make it really pop. This block will balance block 2 in the quilt

                                             Block 15                                           Block 2

I also decided with the large 32"block and two at 20.5" that the quilt is becoming bigger than I would like for a cuddle quilt so I made this in the 12" size but included the little corner triangles even if only a bit will show because I thought they added that unique touch. I will continue to analyze the block sizes and may even trim a few down to 6-10" to fit in the spaces created by the multiple sized blocks.
I love Pat Sloan's asymmetrical setting. Pat Sloan's Solstice Setting

I sure hope the child that gets this loves it as much as I love making it and using these fabrics.
I donate a lot of my quilts to the Project Linus
