New Quilt Project

I bought some Boundless Fabric from Craftsy because is was so pretty. No clue what to do with it, and then Pat Sloan came up with the Solstice Challenge and the blocks will be 12" and not as complicated as the Splendid Sampler Quilt A-long. The first was a simple Churn Dash.   I think this will showcase these fabric perfectly.  This first block was a nice change from tiny pieces of the Splendid Sampler or the complicated Y seams of the Westering Women BOM (although I enjoying the challenge and learning I get doing the blocks). So I am finding it relaxing, and I don't have to decide what block to make which sometimes, with so many choices, leaves me planning  and deciding and changing my mind and never sewing.

My Berner Inspirations

Here are some of my inspirations for my Berner Quilts. These are Lobster's puppies, Jam and his siblings.

Bernese Mountain Dog Bling in the whelping box.             My inspiration to make her part of some bling in a jewelry box. The jewelry is actual earrings and bracelets.

Berner theme quilts

I have three main passions so it was hard to pick a name for my blog to include them all, so I went simple and listed them.
I thought I just needed to have a blog.
This could be active or weekly or monthly or if I get too busy, yearly.
I wanted to be able to share my quilts and my dogs antics and find Facebook a bit complicated.
So here are some of my Quilts featuring Bernese Mountain Dogs. Many of these are in conjunction with my Berner and Quilting friend Vicky.

This is for the Monterrey specialty, where the little otter was the mascot

This pillow went with the Northwest Specialty quilt,
center panel was bordered by plaid  bear paws.

This was made for the California Specialty

This is the center panel for a Northeastern Specialty where the little crab was the mascot

This Specialty theme was based on classic cars.

A quilt made for a Bernese Mountain Dog owner featuring photos of her own dog.

This one was made for my good friends Randy and Melinda and is based on their dogs names.
